The lively colours and unique texture makes slate appropriate for both interior and exterior applications. It can be used to create a minimal contemporary look or a rustic feel; whichever way you use it Slate is coming back into it's own.
Slate is formed of compressed layers of sediments formed under oceans. Since it is formed in layers, it can easily be split to expose a beautifully textured surface. The usual colours of slates are black, dark-greys, blue grey's, green grey's, earthy browns, though beiges, yellows, pinks, purples and copper are also found. Slate is used for flooring, cladding , landscaping and counter tops both on residential and commercial projects.
Slate is available Riven, Polished and even Hand Polished; the ultimate finish for slate which feels like leather....expensive but not commonly seen.
