Travertine is a beautiful stone and is deservedly popular throughout the world. It adds warmth and more than a hint of luxury to any setting and DirectStone works hard to ensure that you get the best available.
Since travertine is relatively hard wearing it is suitable for both domestic (floors and walls in kitchens, bathrooms, wet-rooms, conservatories etc) and light commercial applications with medium traffic. For high traffic commercial spaces a Jura Limestone will give similar colouring but a much more durable finish.
Travertine is generally filled with a matching resin before it is honed or polished which produces a uniform surface more like other marbles. Unfilled travertine is also quite beautiful, and can be used to give a room either a contemporary or rustic appearance, it is also frequently used on the exterior surfaces of buildings.
