The venue was a stunning Suffolk barn conversion and the vision was to have a polished concrete floor in place to reflect the beautiful exposed oak rafters. Remediating a Poorly Floated Concrete Floor
First, our flooring experts diagnosed the problem. The concrete floor had been poorly floated. We recommended a HTC Superfloor™ Gold polish to create a brilliant gloss flooring finish.
Step 1. Using HTC machines and diamond grinding tools the concrete slab was honed and densified. This enhances the durability of the floor and creates the foundation for a beautiful polish.
Step 2. The newly revealed surface is treated with a silicate, HTC Cure.
Step 3. The floor is polished using an HTC Twister™ machine, to achieve a gloss finish.
Step 4. The polished floor is treated with HTC Stain Protection.
Given the urgency of this particular job, we pulled the stops out to ensure that the floor was perfect for the big event. 350m² in total of power floated concrete was polished in just 4 days.
A Glorious Floor For a Wonderful Wedding
Polished concrete is an innovative flooring which when juxtaposed with the ancient timber framework of this Suffolk barn conversion, creates a stylish and unique effect. The uplighting of the plastered walls brought out the texture of the beams, and the symmetry of the roofing structure was reflected in the floor below. All in all, we had helped to realise the vision of our clients and they were delighted that we’d been able to transform disaster into triumph.
